Camping La Plage

Really nice camping directly at the beach. Good places for tent and caravan, although you might need some help with the latter as the roads in the camping are a bit narrow - but they gladly help you with that. We went there in May, and at that time it was quiet and very clean. Sanitary was very well cleaned every day. There is a nice restaurant directly at the camping and the village is just 2 minutes walking away.

As cycle tourists we had a great stay at this gem of a campsite. A very hospitable welcome, we could choose our pitch from the ones available. (We hadn't booked in advance and turned up on the day. If you arrive high season I'm sure you'd need to book ahead). Great pitches with plenty of space and privacy. Beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The shower/washing blocks were excellent and impeccably clean. The best thing about the campsite is the direct access onto a beautiful stretch of beach which never got too crowded. A highly reccomended campsite and we will be back. I almost hesitated to review this so it doesn't get too popular!

Friendly enough staff, clean facilities and big enough pitches. Also right on the sandy beach with direct access. On arrival the woman at the reception spoke at least 4 languages! That being said, it’s noisy at night as it’s right next to a street with bars and restaurants. It was also very windy when we were there, which is unavoidable, but it made it near impossible to sit out and cook. And when we checked out no English was spoken at the front desk. It’s a good location if you like the beach and nightlife. If you are after something more calm, like us, this is not for you.

We booked a pitch with sea view 8 months in advance based on the recommendation from Clever Campen and the good reviews from GMaps. We planned to stay for 2 weeks but we left after 6 nights and it felt like such a huge relief . Very disappointed by what we found and I’m very surprised no other reviews mentioned this. So I need to mention them so that other don’t fall in the same situation. The issues are: - a lot of noise almost every night around 3am from the beach and no security from the Camping place. One night we had to get out at 4am because there was a fight just outside our place. We assume someone wanted to steal our bicycles. Clearly not a place to go with small children!!! - very small pitch with a very narrow road in between. - no water at the pitch and the place where you can take water from has an annoying button that you need to push for the 10 minutes needed to fill your canister. - the toilets are really old and the showers and foot washers become disgusting in the evening. We decided to always use the WC from the caravan considering the Corona period and not understanding how this can be safe. - the place to empty the chemical WC is disgusting. Luckily I had the mask. - the beach gets very crowded in August because there are several other huge campings on the same street. It didn’t appear to be safe considering the COVID period so we avoided staying on the beach at rush hours. - the only good things were that they help you to park the caravan when you arrive/leave and that you can drink your coffee on the beach before it’s flooded by the tourists. - it might be better if you go when the camping is not so full. - when we told the lady from the reception about the fight outside our caravan and that we want to leave in 2 days she said we could also leave that day but that we should respect the contract and pay for the entire period- as if it was so easy to just pack everything and leave when you also have 2 kids with you. Finally she gave up and agreed not to pay for the second week.

We arrived 1st October to find that the campsite was packed. It’s easy to see why. A lovely, friendly, reasonably priced site ... with its own gate onto the beach. It also has a terrific restaurant, overlooking the sea. At this time of the year the surrounding area is like a ghost town but you’ll find little need to leave this super little campsite.
